BARBECUE

bbq-art-square.png

Robert O’Hara’s Barbecue centers around the O'Mallerys: a dysfunctional group of adult siblings who come together for a park barbecue to stage an emergency intervention for their sister Barbara whose drug habit has gotten out of hand. Through O'Hara's darkly comedic lens, the play engages audiences in a dialogue about race and social class, family politics, and the ways we give up parts ourselves to the stranglehold of capitalism.
